Jefferson County and its municipalities offer ample opportunities to live, work, and play in one of the fastest growing counties in the St. Louis region. Conveniently located just south of St. Louis there are many opportunities both inside and outside the county to attend the theatre, participate in recreational opportunities including biking and hiking on nature trails, explore museums, attend a variety of professional and semi-professional sporting events, explore historical sites and spend a day at a major amusement park.

The county is currently experiencing an expansion in housing, commercial and industrial businesses in the I-55, U.S. 61/67, Hwy 21, and Hwy 30 corridors.

The Economic Development Corporation of Jefferson County (EDC) provides a variety of services to the county and municipal governments within the county including development attraction, expansion, and retention. In addition, the EDC provides professional and technical assistance to small business.
